Dua Lipa is a English singer and musician born on 22nd August 1995, in London United Kingdom. In 2014, following a career as a model and actress she signed with Warner Bros Records. She released her debut self-titled album in the year 2017. The album reached number. three on the U.K. Charts. The album had eight singles that were released, including Be the First I.D.G.A.F. and New Rules. In the United States it peaked as number 6. Lipa was awarded the Brit Awards as a British female solo artist as well as British debut act in 2018. The album was certified platinum throughout the world. Dua Lipa was the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London Born on 22 August 1995. Her parents are of Kosovo Albanian descent. Bosnian roots through her grandmother. Her ancestors can also be tracked back to Peja, the Kosovo town of Peja. Her grandfathers were historians as well. Gjin along with Rina are her sisters. Lipa's musical influences came from her father who is the singer-guitarist of the Kosovan The rock band Oda. While at the house, her father would play his own compositions and songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa was just five years old when she first began to sing. In just her ninth year she began singing at Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa has performed her cover of If I Am Not Got You as well as Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, both on YouTube. Lipa made her debut record contract in 2014 through Warner Bros. Records. Her first single was released New Love in August of 2015.
